The Plumbing Decides Where Things Can Go
Kitchen layouts are drawn for looks, then run into the plumbing. The sink moves across the room and there is a waste to relocate. The dishwasher lands in a run with no water point and nowhere for the drain hose.
Island benches bite hardest. Water out to an island is manageable. Waste is the real work, because it needs fall from the sink back to the stack, which on a slab means a saw cut and a trench through the floor.
Timing causes the rest. Cabinets go in, the templater measures, the stone is cut, and then the tap hole is wrong for the mixer or the waste clashes with a drawer bank. Once stone is cut, it is cut.

We check the kitchen plan against the existing pipework before the cabinets are ordered, and tell you what the layout costs in plumbing terms. Then we rough in water and waste to the cabinet setout, so the points land in the right carcass.

Usually yes, though it is the most involved part of a kitchen. The waste has to fall all the way from the island back to the existing drain line, so a slab means cutting and trenching, and a timber floor means working underneath.
Rough-in happens before the cabinets go in, once the old kitchen is stripped out and the walls are open. Fit-off happens after the benchtop is installed. Book both dates with us as soon as the cabinetmaker gives you theirs.
Yes. The tap itself is straightforward. The planning is making sure there is room under the sink for the filter housing or the boiling unit tank, a power point where the unit needs one, and access to change the cartridge later.
Yes. Gas work has to be done by a licensed gasfitter, and we are licensed for it. We run or extend the gas point to suit the new cooktop position, connect the appliance, and leak test the installation before we sign it off.
Yes. A dishwasher needs a water point with an isolating tap and a proper drain connection, usually teed into the sink waste with the hose set high enough that it cannot siphon back. If it sits away from the sink, we plan the run first.
