Is The Pipe Itself The Problem?
Clearing the same line every autumn is the giveaway. Roots grow back to water, and once they have found a crack or an open joint they keep coming. A blocked drain that returns to the same spot is a broken pipe.
Plenty of Melbourne homes still run on the original earthenware clay sewer, laid in short lengths with mortared joints. Ground movement in our reactive clay soil pulls those joints apart and cracks the barrel. Cast iron rusts from the inside.

It starts with the camera. We survey the full run, measure how far along the damage sits and mark the position on the surface, so we know exactly what we are repairing and how long the liner needs to be.
Next we prepare the line. High-pressure jetting and mechanical root cutters strip out roots, scale and silt, and the camera goes back in to confirm the wall is clean. Resin only bonds to a properly prepped pipe, so this step decides whether the repair lasts.
Then the liner goes in. A felt sleeve soaked in resin is pulled through an existing access point, inflated against the old pipe wall and left to cure. You end with a continuous, jointless pipe inside the original, with nothing for roots to get through.

Pipe Relining FAQs
We push a felt sleeve soaked in resin into your existing drain, inflate it against the pipe wall and let it cure. When it sets you have a smooth, jointless pipe inside the old one, with the cracks and open joints sealed from inside.
A liner needs an existing pipe to form against. If a section has collapsed there is nothing left to line, so that length gets dug up and replaced. Same for offset joints, and for a severe belly, because lining a sag still holds water.
Most relining jobs are done inside a day, with the drain out of use for a few hours while the line is cleaned and the liner cures. We tell you when the water must stay off and the moment it is back on.
Not through the relined section. The liner is continuous with no joints, which is exactly where roots were getting in. What matters is lining enough of the run, because if we seal five metres and leave a cracked joint past it, roots find that one.
Compare the whole cost, not just the plumbing. Excavation means breaking out concrete, removing paving or a garden, then reinstating all of it, and that reinstatement is often the bigger bill. We quote both options where both are viable, and you pick.
