The Room Everyone Leaves Until Last
Laundries get the least design attention. The old concrete trough takes up half the room, the washing machine taps are seized and weeping, and the waste is a bent pipe hooked over the trough that spits water across the floor.
Braided washing machine hoses perish from the inside. The braid corrodes where it kinks against the wall, and one eventually lets go under mains pressure. If the house is empty, that is water through the laundry and into the carpet.
Relocating a laundry brings its own issues. Moving it into a garage, under a stair or into a cupboard means getting water, waste and a floor waste to a spot the house was never plumbed for. Fall and venting decide what works.

Most laundry jobs are a single visit. We replace seized taps with quarter-turn ones you can actually shut off, fit a proper standpipe and trap so the machine waste stops splashing, and install the new trough and cabinet.
For relocations we start with the drain. The waste needs fall back to the sewer and correct venting, and that decides whether a spot is workable. Garages, cupboards and under-stair nooks are all doable, and european laundries are a regular job for us.
One thing we tell every customer: replace your braided washing machine hoses every few years and turn the taps off when you go away. If one has let go, that is an emergency plumbing call. Laundries fit into our renovation plumbing work too.
